Dhaulagiri is extended 70 miles from the Kali Gandaki river to Bheri in west. And here lies the world’s seventh highest peak Dhaulagiri-I which is elevated at 8,167m. Dhaulagiri has the rightful name. The name is derived from Sanskrit where ‘Dhawala’ means beautiful, white, and dazzling and ‘Giri’ means Mountain. The mountain range around Dhaulagiri is truly inspiring and beautiful. Dhaulagiri-I (8,167m) was first sumited by Swiss/Australian/Nepali Expedition in May 13, 1960.
