Dhampus Sarangkot Trek is short hiking trek around the valley of Lakes – Pokhara and is an ideal destination for the people with short holidays. Sarangkot is just above Pokhara city and is a popular destination for viewing awe inspiring sunrise over magnificent Himalayas. Pokhara is a phenomenal place of natural beauty; lies in central Nepal, situated at an altitude of 850 meters from the sea level and 200km west of Kathmandu valley. Sarangkot hill is also offers best scenic view of Pokhara Valley. Sarangkot lies at an elevation of 1590m to the northwest of Pokhara. It has panoramic mountain views from Dhaulagiri and across the Annapurna to Manaslu, as well as south over the Pokhara valley.
Dhampus is the beautiful village inhabited by most of the Gurung people. It is also the gateway to the incredible Annapurna Circuit, one of the popular trails in the Himalayas. Dhampus Sarangkot trek is an ideal trek for the first-time visitor and novice trekkers, also for the travelers who have limited time to experience the trekking of Nepal. From Dhampus and Sarangkot, you can see high peaks of Annapurna mountains range, Machhapuchhre (Fishtail) Mountain Range and varied landscape with different culture and tradition. As this is the famous trekking region, accommodation and meals are easily available here. Ethnic cultures, spectacular Mountain View, beautiful Gurung villages, Buddhist monastery are the major highlights of this trek.
This awesome trek to Dhampus and Sarangkot can be done in any season of the year. Selecting a best season for you is very difficult task as it differs from person to person. However, most of the trekker chooses autumn and spring season as it offers clear sky and pleasant climatic condition. But if you want to go for a solo trek in least busy trail, monsoon and winter may also be the best season for you.
Day 01: Arrival at Tribhuwan International Airport and transfer to hotel
Day 02: Drive to Pokhara by bus and transfer to Hotel (215Km, 7 hours)
Day 03: Hike to Sarangkot and explore Pokhara valley
Day 04: Drive from Pokhara to Phedi and trek to Dhampus
Day 05: Trek from Dhamphus to Landruk (5100 feet and 5/6 hours)
Day 06: Trek from Landruk to Ghandruk (6500 feet and 3 to 4 hours
Day 07: Trek from Ghandruk to Birethanti then Nayapul and finally drive to Pokhara. (3 hours walking)
Day 08: Back to Kathmandu (7 hrs drive or 30 minutes flight) and check in Hotel
Day 09: Final Departure
After your arrival at Tribhuwan International Airport in Kathmandu, you will be welcomed by our representative and then transferred to hotel. Relax in the leisure time. We will host welcome dinner tonight.
After a pleasant morning in Kathmandu valley, we will start our Dhampus Trekking with a scenic drive to Pokhara valley. Approximately 7 hours of drive takes us to Pokhara. On the trail to Pokhara, we will follow the very beautiful trail enriched with natural wonders. Observing the countryside villages and green lush forests, following the bank of Trishuli River, we will reach Pokhara in late afternoon. Awesome views of Machhapuchhre (Fish Tail) and Mount Annapurna waits to mesmerize us in Pokhara.
Overnight in Pokhara, Included Meals – Breakfast
We will start hike to Sarangkot in the early morning in order to witness the captivating sunrise view from top of the hill. As easy walk from Pokhara takes us to Sarangkot that is very famous as sunrise view point among the local and international tourists. This vantage point also offers the best glimpses of mountain ranges and whole Pokhara valley. After spending some time there, we will trek back to Pokhara and explore the heritage sites of city.

Finally, our actual trekking starts from third day of Dhampus Trek. Leaving Pokhara in the early morning, we will drive to Phedi in a private vehicle taking approximately 30 minutes. From here, we start hiking in a ascending trail through the forests, small villages and paddy fields before reaching Dhampus.

After having breakfast at Dhampus, we will follow the trail traversing throughthe ridge of Deurali and descend through the forest for some time to small cillage of Tolka and Bheri Kharka. The route then passes through the scattered forests and small beautiful villages to reach today’s ultimate destination – Landruk.

We will start our trek in the early morning and our first part of trekking goes steeply down toward the river for an hour and then again starts ascending for two to three hours before reaching Ghandruk. While walking in the trail to Ghandruk, we will explore astonishing views of Mount Gangapurna, Machhapuchhre, Mount Annapurna and several other snow capped mountains. We will also make a short visit to Annapurna Mountain Conservation Area Project headquarters and the local museum if time permits.
Overnight in Ghandruk Village, Meals Included- Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner
This is our final day walk on Trekking voyage to Dhampus. We will have comparatively easy walk of 3 hours only in a gradual downhill trail. On reaching Nayapul, we will drive in a private vehicle to Pokhara.

After having breakfast in early morning, we will either drive or fly to Kathmandu. Driving to Kathmandu takes about 7-8 hours while you can reach there within half hours by flight. Both ways offers you mesmerizing views and makes your travel awesome. The flight cost is however not included in package cost, so you have to pay it separately.

Today is the end of our 7 days Dhampus Trek. We will drop you off to Tribhuwan International Airport 3 hours before your scheduled flight or you can join other short sightseeing tour with us if you can manage some more holidays to spend in Nepal.
If it’s too much to carry from your home country some of the necessary equipment can be hired or bought in Kathmandu around Thamel as well.
Most of the equipment in general and standard lists for all seasons while on the trek, but may differ as per the season and duration of trekking and areas of your chosen trip.
