Naya Kaanga Peak (5846 m) is situated 19 miles north of Kathmandu valley to langtang region This peak is a less popular climbing peak and climbed by fewer climbers in Nepal. Naya Kanga peak climbing in Nepal is for everyone who has trekking experiences and good physical fitness.Naya Kanga peak climbing is suited for the beginner climbers due to its non technical geographical structure. Naya Khang (5846 m) rises east of Kanjing Gompa (3850 m) and west of Ganja La (5110 m). Naya Kanga peak is also known as Ganja La Chuli among adventure community. Day rest in Kanjing Gompa and visit two view point: Kanjing Ri (4600 m) and Tserko Ri (4980 m) offers tremendous opportunity to acclimatize before an ascend to Naya Kanga.
Morning starts with a scenic drive from next to central bus station, through terraced farming field with thatched roof typical villages with fabulous Himalayan scenery takes to trail head Dhunche (1950 m). Trek ascends gradually through the rhododendron and bamboo forest. There are plenty of opportunities to get acclimatization and to feel wilderness with the tolerable efforts. The trek passes along Tamang and Tibetan settlement with their cultural diversities and living styles. The Gompas (monasteries), Chortens and Mani Walls with beautiful colorful prayer flags are another attraction of the trek. The huge meadows, glaciers and uninhabited Langtang upper alpine valley creates a meditating environment.
Naya Kanga peak climbing route leads crossing a suspension wooden bridge over Langtang Khola and ascends toward Ganja La Pass and set up base camp. We establish high camp up next then, follow its north-west ridge to the summit. The route offers a bit technical climbing but, involves some steep snow and ice slopes. You have stunning views of Langtang Lirung (7425 m), Langshisha Ri (6370 m), Shishapangma (8064 m) Pemthang Ri (6836 m) and Jugal Himal ranges. Descend down to Kanjing Gompa and retrace to Syabrubesi and drive back to Kathmandu Langtang hidden valley and Naya Khang peak climbing make the trip another milestone adventure holiday indeed.
