Everest Base Camp Trek for family is the most popular destination for trekkers in Nepal. Its Popularity has grown since first expedition to the Nepalese side of Everest in the 1950s. The trek takes off from Lukla. First you will take 30 minutes morning flight from Kathmandu to Lukla and land its tiny Lukla airport then your trek start to Khumbu Region. The trek follows the Dudh koshi valley route with an ascent up to the Sherpa Capital ofNamche Bazar.

From Namche, you trek along a high path from where you have the first good view of Everest you trek towards Tengboche Monastery located on top of a mountain ridge and then descend the Imja khola and continue to the village of Pangboche and Dingboche. After that you will reach at the Khumbu Glacier. The trek through the glacier takes you first to Lobuche and then to Gorak Shep, where you finally reach your final destination at the foot of the Khumbu icefalls. Spending time at such heights, even we approach to the base camp.

If it’s too much to carry from your home country some of the necessary equipment can be hired or bought in Kathmandu around Thamel as well.
